I just realized one thing by my brother's attitude toward life. No matter how hard boys show them to be, inside they're just as fragile as butterfly wings.
I don't know what's wrong with my brother, he's behaving like he's on period all the time. He's sad, frustrated, hates his life, hates himself, hates studies and everything just stresses him out. I don't see him smile anymore. He doesn't come out when people come over to our house to say hi. He doesn't appreciate anything anymore. He just judges. Life, god, fate, our parents. And I feel like I have passed this phase long ago. He is my twin yet it seems like he's my baby brother.
Trust me, my voice cracked, I spoke for over an hour, trying to make him understand he can get over his frustration just by accepting everything the way it is. Accepting his fears, his flaws, tiredness. But every time we are in the same page again. He has to face his fears, now or never.
He asks- "What is the point of all this? We are all gonna die! Why am I here?"
"What is the point?! Listen, You are a miracle. That you exist out of endless possibilities and you're here is a miracle. Your life- it's a gift from God. Don't take this things for granted. YES we are all gonna die. This is natural and you have to accept it with an open heart; nobody will be here forever. You have to lead your life, and that is the point, you're given a life so you live it.
You have to face your fear. You have to keep pushing. Make every mistake you possibly can and learn. But you have to keep pushing. You can't just give up on your frustration. You have to laugh, smile and interact with people. You have to make a change. You can't just waste that creativity on your sad, unnerving thoughts.
You have too much problems, then handle it. Don't question how you were raised. You are just 19! I mean how much of the problems can you possibly have? You don't have wife or kids to worry about. You are just asked to get an average grade, pass the finals and then enter into the university our parents already have made up their minds. Just handle it. This things you are worrying about won't last long. Just make a plan, schedule it and eat it with your actions. Watch masterchef US or cooking shows, or comedies or whatever you like when you feel down. Just don't get too much invested on TV shows like me, cause that would be another problem then. Trust me, no one knows it better than this silly girl right over here.
Anyway. Just take it easy. You are human. You will make mistakes and fail. Don't be scared to suffer. Life ahead, could be endless suffering. This is a blip. So just quit being the sad guy. If you want to change your hairstyle, do it. Look good, it helps with confidence. You often scold me for looking at the mirror right? You say it passes a insecure vibe but guess what? It actually helped me to accept how I look and helped me to understand my posture and everything. So don't be so cross about the appearance, trust me, it is a big deal to look good to yourself and people. Your body is your instrument. Play it anyway you can. Find your own style and comfort.
And most importantly be happy. I am pressured too you know. But I accepted it. I made my mind that I am going to deal with it my way. You find yours. Don't blame it on our parents, they just worry.
Don't get disconnected. Be present. Break those frustration chains. I can't see you like this- Listen mister. You have to be happy with your life. So make it happen."
