I am recovering

So I have been trying to get over from my sleeping disorder. It's been two days, I woke up before anyone shouted on me and I went to bed before the clock strike 12. So far. Success. But I feel like shit during the day. But the thing is, I get to sleep at night, and I wait for it the whole time, the night and when I jump into my bed, when I close my eyes, I actually fall asleep without any trouble which is kind of shocking because I'd been an insomniac for ages. And finally I am recovering, I hope this continues, and I hope I get over it pretty quick. This is not easy for me and at times, it's nerve-wrecking. Just like recovering feels shit to an alcoholic. Hypothetically saying.

Unlike every time I take a vow, this time I wanna make sure this works. So I have set some rules. I have created my own rules and I have made myself feel okay about it. And I think it's what I need. Some discipline and control over my life. Since I hate it when others do it, so I've taken the lead. Self-control. Yeah that's my motto now.

1. Don't reward yourself with naps/sleep during the day. Ever. Reward yourself with exercise or read a good novel. Enhance your vocabulary.
2. Don't oversleep when you're depressed.Eat chocolate/Cold water/ice-cream/ the halwa that your mother made or just do random dancing to your fav song.
3. Never exceed 8 hours.
4. If you're having trouble sleeping, take a walk to the living room to the dining area, jump up and down, do squats, take a shower, do breathing exercises or open your book and solve a math problem.
5.Don't worry about your hair. Keep'em free and Just don't think about it.Pretend like you don't have any hair to worry about.
6. Trust yourself more than you trust your alarm.
7. Pull the curtains off at night so the sun-light could come through the window in the morning and wake you up.
8. Don't think about death at night.
9. Don't think about future, especially during night.
10.Have perverted thoughts of your celeb crushes if that helps to make you sleep at night. (Just so you know, to me perverted means cute imaginations of celebs I find cute;)
11. Don't listen to your instincts at night.
Because normally, I over-think at that time. And end up being wide awake. Like last night, the sound of an offset paper stuck out of our printer machine sounded like someone's thumping footsteps in my room. And I really thought some one was in my room. And I got woken up by a horror dream. So you see. My instincts normally don't make sense at night. So I better not believe it. At night.

Umm....So these rules. I mentally created and I'm trying to follow them. Although I kind of exceeded one hour to the 8 hour rule and so I am gonna make up for it tomorrow I will wake up earlier. Other than of that, I am quite happy with myself that I am doing this.Mornings are more fun because making to the breakfast table feels...fresh and the day really starts with activities. Aside from the disorder of sleeping, I am trying to sober up my eating. But the problem is, when I reduce supper, I end up binging at dinner. So I have to work on that. I have to come up with a diet plan. And I have to eat fruits more often.

Look at the bright side of it all. I am changing to a healthy and normal life style. And you know what, I don't feel like shit anymore. It's more like a challenge to me. And I like challenges.

spring is almost here

Hi B,  Season is changing. The hard days are almost over.  The city I live in has turned so beautiful, I get overwhelmed by the beauty.  Tulips are in. Cherry blossoms are blossoming.  Magnolia, Beautiful white flowers, name unknown to me.  Taking a walk out feels like a celebration of life.  It feels like I'm falling in love with the city.  I remember when I first moved here 2 years ago, the excitement and the crippling anxiety of starting a new life from scratch. Now, after 2 years, I feel a warmth and love for the place.  I don't know if I would feel the same when the winter comes though. Seasonal depression is no joke.  My new mantra for life now is to chill.  Praise the nature and find pretty little corners in the city.  Write poems.  Paint, maybe.  Seek positivity.  Love. Be kind to self. No rush. Read books. Just flow.

long distance again

I came back from my trip. It was amazing 2 weeks of my life. Seeing him again after so long felt strange yet peaceful. I finally got to be in his arms again. 2 weeks flew by and now I am back home and back to work and normal hustle and bustle of life.  He got an extension offer and decided to stay for another 3 months. It is sad because he was supposed to be back next month. He asked me if he should take it and despite having my heart aching I supported him in the decision. It is not confirmed yet but he probably be staying another 3. Another 5 months of long distance. How am I going to survive the winter by myself? I don't know. Honestly, in my heart, I don't care about how much compensation he be getting. I miss him so much and this long distance thing is killing me inside. Today is Friday night and instead of cuddles and movie, I am home alone. No plans to look forward. No one to talk to. I am the loneliest girl on earth right now. He is probably sleeping and not picking u...

winter together

Dear B,  Sorry I've been so MIA. Here's the update you missed - My husband came back! He wasn't approved for those 3 months of extension. I've been getting enough cuddles and kisses to survive this winter.  Yes, winter is here. Never underestimate the Canadian winter. It's the worst. Everything is grey and dark. However, I am looking forward to going home in March. I'm so excited to see my friends again. Most importantly my parents and brother. It feels a strange kind of feeling. I am planning to 'visit' the place I was born and call home. It is definitely a new kind of feeling.  Things been okay. We are okay. I am glad to have him back.  We bought a new couch and a coffee table. It's still in back order and I'm impatiently waiting for them to arrive.  Can't believe only 4 days left to 2026. Time is flying so quick. Hope we talk again, B. I swear I missed you!
