So I have been trying to get over from my sleeping disorder. It's been two days, I woke up before anyone shouted on me and I went to bed before the clock strike 12. So far. Success. But I feel like shit during the day. But the thing is, I get to sleep at night, and I wait for it the whole time, the night and when I jump into my bed, when I close my eyes, I actually fall asleep without any trouble which is kind of shocking because I'd been an insomniac for ages. And finally I am recovering, I hope this continues, and I hope I get over it pretty quick. This is not easy for me and at times, it's nerve-wrecking. Just like recovering feels shit to an alcoholic. Hypothetically saying.
Unlike every time I take a vow, this time I wanna make sure this works. So I have set some rules. I have created my own rules and I have made myself feel okay about it. And I think it's what I need. Some discipline and control over my life. Since I hate it when others do it, so I've taken the lead. Self-control. Yeah that's my motto now.
1. Don't reward yourself with naps/sleep during the day. Ever. Reward yourself with exercise or read a good novel. Enhance your vocabulary.
2. Don't oversleep when you're depressed.Eat chocolate/Cold water/ice-cream/ the halwa that your mother made or just do random dancing to your fav song.
3. Never exceed 8 hours.
4. If you're having trouble sleeping, take a walk to the living room to the dining area, jump up and down, do squats, take a shower, do breathing exercises or open your book and solve a math problem.
5.Don't worry about your hair. Keep'em free and Just don't think about it.Pretend like you don't have any hair to worry about.
6. Trust yourself more than you trust your alarm.
7. Pull the curtains off at night so the sun-light could come through the window in the morning and wake you up.
8. Don't think about death at night.
9. Don't think about future, especially during night.
10.Have perverted thoughts of your celeb crushes if that helps to make you sleep at night. (Just so you know, to me perverted means cute imaginations of celebs I find cute;)
11. Don't listen to your instincts at night.
Because normally, I over-think at that time. And end up being wide awake. Like last night, the sound of an offset paper stuck out of our printer machine sounded like someone's thumping footsteps in my room. And I really thought some one was in my room. And I got woken up by a horror dream. So you see. My instincts normally don't make sense at night. So I better not believe it. At night.
Umm....So these rules. I mentally created and I'm trying to follow them. Although I kind of exceeded one hour to the 8 hour rule and so I am gonna make up for it tomorrow I will wake up earlier. Other than of that, I am quite happy with myself that I am doing this.Mornings are more fun because making to the breakfast table feels...fresh and the day really starts with activities. Aside from the disorder of sleeping, I am trying to sober up my eating. But the problem is, when I reduce supper, I end up binging at dinner. So I have to work on that. I have to come up with a diet plan. And I have to eat fruits more often.
Look at the bright side of it all. I am changing to a healthy and normal life style. And you know what, I don't feel like shit anymore. It's more like a challenge to me. And I like challenges.
